Barbara brings 25 years of corporate and agency experience to her clients' corporate and marketing public relations programs. She has provided public relations counsel, launched new products and conducted media relations campaigns and employee communications programs for brands ranging from Corning and Norton to entrepreneurial software firms and regional banks.
Barbara also conceived and implemented public affairs programs and community relations campaigns for a packaging industry association, an automotive safety campaign, an adult literacy program and a regional bank.
She has been president of the public relations division of Potter Hazlehurst and vice president/group manager at the New York-based Creamer Dickson Basford (now Magnet Communications). Prior to her agency tenure, Barbara was manager of systems and services publications at The Foxboro Company (now Invensys), and a newspaper reporter and feature writer for daily and weekly newspapers.
She holds a B.A. degree in English and earned a graduate diploma from Harvard University, with a concentration in marketing management. She is a member of the College of Fellows of the Public Relations Society of America, earned the APR accreditation from PRSA, is a member of the PRSA Counselors Academy, and is a past president of the Boston Chapter. She is the chair of the Board of Trustees of Green Mountain College, where she chaired the 2002 Presidential Search Committee, and was the 1999 recipient of the College's Distinguished Service Award.
